I can't speak for all foundries and I haven't got a set of facts from any one manufacturer or sales rep. The little Some sales reps have told me capacity is being diverted at Analog Devices from the analog lines to the DSP lines, and that some product "rationalization" is occurring. I inquired of some of the product line managers at Analog (US and Ireland) about the shortages. They said the shortage is due to shifting demand and trying to meet that demand by shifting part numbers on a particular process line.
