I've already suggested that locals are a Good Thing as the compiler can overlay them.
I'd previously thought that keeping locals in the innermost scope possible would get a further benefit from overlaying - but someone on the Keil forum recently suggested that this is not so. Can you comment? (thinking about it, it looks like the Keil Linkers do overlaying on a function-by-function basis - so using inner scope within a function wouldn't help...?) |
