#99738 - Snubbed... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Mr.Russell ,
The problem mentioned in my post was actually observed in a commercial welding controller which I supplied with my spot welding machine, It had a BT136E-600 to turn on a 230VAC Pneumatic Solenoid valve. The valve would not turn OFF once turned ON ,so the tip would never go up,but by just adding the bulb in parallel the problem was solved. Your solution of an X2 cap is Ok I can use it. I need to use triacs to switch a coil taking about 130mA at 230V Here is the circuit I was trying to yesterday (snubber values changed as per your suggestion). ![]() It worked but I was worried about the long term stability of this circuit,so needed an opinion. I had used a resistor of 1 K and a cap of 68uF since this was what I had readily with me, If I use these high values current decay will be slower? I had read in some app note MT1 needs to be connected to line and MT2 to neutral , Is this right? I could not understand the logic? I will see if I can trace the Note so I can quote it here. Thank you for the valuable guidance. Deepak |
