What kind of movement did you need then Erik ? I thought you'd need 1 mm or so of stroke. How did you get that with Piezo, without horrible stacks and high volt drivers ?
I (being "practical bob") only used them a guy called Fred did the R&D. We got the deflection (1-2 mm sounds right) with a 100V supply which included a good deal of safety margin. Thus the "stacks" were not that horrible. Again, it is a VERY long time ago, the details are quite fuzzy. I do recall that it took Fred a good while to find the "sweet spot" for making the piezos flip with a reasonable voltage
