Do you simply want a variable-power supply to a 9V heater element (nominally 90W)? The Heater element is Platinum coated with nickel. When i measured its resistance with multimeter it read .5 ohms. This element is connected to the secondary of 9V/10A transformer whose primary is controlled by a 110 VAC Variac for heating adjustments. The element is used to seal small glass tubes with following dia in millimeter. outer: 1.7 - 4.8 inner: 1.4 - 2.5 The sealing Temperature range is at 800 deg celcius . Now my need is to replace this bulky setup of variac and transformers into some thing which is PCB mountable (or) preferring any other alternatives. Suggestions required. Thank's -suresh |
