| Hi Erik, as Ian has said, the local calls are chargeable. Just before an year, the internet access rates came down(the Govt. tariff).
Before, for an hour of Internet access thru dial-up, the call charges were Rs. 24, and ISP charges were Rs. 20, surmounting a total of ~$1 per hour. Now it is pretty cheap, dial-up for an hour costs Rs. 5 (during nights), and there are many private competitors providing the internet access. Are local calls free in US? I mean, if you speak to your friend in Washington DC or NY, is that free? Cheers, Vignesh |
