#142609 - Sounds like a P3 motherboard Responding to: ???'s previous message |
There was a spate of capacitor issues on P3 motherboards - maybe yours is one of them? I've had the same problem - I just collected some old motherboards and swapped the caps over. Easier said than done though, the multilayer boards take a bit of heat to melt the solder and clear the hole. I use two soldering irons - one normal on one side and the desolder unit on the other to get enough heat into the joint. Job done. Otherwise it sounds like time for a new PC! The newer motherboards are using polymer capacitors, so the issue of the electros failing will go away. |
