Also don't forget that proper PCB layout and layups are also a significant part of getting the decoupling right.
location, location, location. No, I am not in the housing business but for PCB Real Estate it applies as well. I have a case where occsional misfires were corrected by soldering a decoupling cap directly across a chip. The i... eh layout person that did the board had a 3cm trace from the chip to the decoupling cap - enough to render the decoupling worthless. Erik |
