#149293 - PC Ports - Just curious |
One gets to hear so much about the PC ports - Port 25, 110, 21 etc and if I am not mistaken there are some 65535 ports available and only the top 1K or so ports are used frequently.
So then what is a PC port ? Is it something like a memory mapped I/O that we are familiar with in the microcontroller circuit ? Like if I say "Port 110", will it refer to a specific address in the base memory of the PC ? Thanks Raghu |
