There are a number of specialist secure micros on the market, mostly aimed at 'chip-and-pin' and smartcard applications. Maxim-Dallas do some, and it's well worth reading their security notes, such as app note 3824.
Nothing is unbreakable, so the question is more a matter of value for money. I can't imagine a circumstance where a huge NRE in custom hardware is justified, when compared with the proven technologies available in many standard devices. |
