Hai,...
That's correct.According to datasheet all of I2C slaves to master must need resistor pull-up. The confused problem... Sometimes the pull-up which tied to Vcc(+5V or etc) different between the schematics. sometimes used 10K ohm..and another always used 4K7...also some times with 6K8 ohm... Which one better..?
