I suppose there is a cultural disconnect here. The "double-oh" in 007 indicates a "License To Kill." James Bond is one of several "00" agents. He may be a spy, of sorts. However, when you said that you "did a little 007," I think you meant that you did some detective work. So you should have replaced 007 with, say, Sherlock Holmes (possibly the most common example of a detective) or Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple or Charlie Chan or any of a hundred or more fictional detectives, none of whom have a license to kill. -a |
