#159666 - Thermally destroyed power transistors... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
...very very often show a short circuit between emitter and collector. This everyone knows who ever has repaired hifi- or stage amplifiers. In such failure events nearly always the supply voltage of amplififer appears at output, making the voice coil of woofer melt, unless a protection circuit is present which disconnects the loudspeaker from amplifier by the help of relay.
Unfortunately, I don't remember what happened to the base in such situations. Kai |
