Yes it can be tested on a 2x40.
I think at this point we (8052.com) are testing a variety of controller ICs and there are three or four manufacturers at least. The board and code worked on a 4x20 I have here, so they also use the same addressing. FWIW there are also defects in the standard Hitachi HD44780, but I have never run into them personally. |
