Dorset is famous for the Jurassic Coast, which is a World Heritage Site. Places to look out for are Lulworth Cove, Chesil Beach and Lyme Regis. If you fancy something a bit more recent than fossilised dinosaurs, there are archaeological sites at Maiden Castle and Hod Hill.
I don't know if they are still doing it, but I got to drive a pre-war Bentley at the Christchurch Motor Museum. Compton Abbas airfield isn't too far away, where you can get a pleasure flight in an old "string and linen" biplane. |
