If multiplexing one UART, you need any of:
- mechanical switch/strap/... to select signal - processor that can internally configure which RX pin to use - external chips that have enable signal, so the inactive chip can be set in tristate - use an external 2-to-1 MUX to select which signal to reach the processor pin |
