so i bought a Xeltek 580 and it work ok
we bought a Xletek a couple of years ago and less than a year after the purchase they discontinued accomodating new chips with a "generous" offer of $50 for the old unit if we would buy their latest. as an opposite out BP micros were supported for more than 10 years and they even gave a one year warning when they stopped sending upgrades.
