I think the main trick is actually to use the cheapest possible batteries. Normally 2032 size but with half or maybe even 25% of the capacity of a "real" 2032 battery. The goal here is to build them for maybe $0.50 each, so we are not talking about high-end materials. (Okay I know it would complicate the mechanical part of the thing. Aren't there coin-cell-sized flat resistors around? Or some other, similarly sized/shaped part, providing the proper current limitation?) The result is very impressive, though. Jan |
