Its quite complex, its a completely artificial currency and nobody is even sure if its legal.
But the idea is you keep working on hashing the data until you get a result which you then broadcast on the network and you get the bitcoins as a reward which you can then spend on-line. Seems to be basically how it hows,there is even a bitcoin exchange https://mtgox.com/ which crashed when someone hacked an account and sold half a million biitcoins. |
