However, I think (no proof, no similar display here, all we do in row-mux style) this effect could be easily cancelled by adjusting the refresh sequence to compensate for the shift. E.g. for left-to-right mux sequence and right-to-left shift (where you have shown a dark column would appear at the edge of the "dice") the sequence would be: c1-c2-c3-c4-c5-shift-c5-c1-c2-c3-c4-shift-c4-c5-c1-c2-c3-shift-c3-c4... The OP os concerned about a different effect, which has the same origin as the "tilting" of the row-mux displays. Unfortunately, that effect is impossible to cancel entirely in multiplexed displays.
