Most of these use simple (usually free) software that runs on a PC (or other host platform) rather than just a terminal program. For these, you would need a piece of code called a "Bootloader" if you wanted to make them downloadable from a plain terminal. (actually the chips do have a bootloader - it just talks to the special programming software, rather than a plain terminal program). |
