#100941 - well Philips is "reforming" as seen by t Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I also find it nontrivial to buy Philips '51s (especially in 1-2pcs amounts)
well Philips is "reforming" as seen by their appearance on Digi-key. As far as I know, the story is that a former Philips executive told Digi-Key "why would we be interested in low volumes". His successor apologized to Digi-Key several times and finally Digi-key is carrying the Philips micros. Yours truly and others have mentioned, whenever an occasion arose, that making it so that amateurs/students buy Atmel predisposes them for selecting that brand and that, eventually, will cost the volume sales.
