#100963 - Wireless Protocol Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Do you have control over the data format at both ends? When someone says Cell Phone and TV Remote Control it sounds like there is already some protocol to follow.
In the event you have control at both ends, then it really depends on how robust a data link you require. If the line of sight is good and missing a byte here and there is not a problem, then you could go protocol-less or nearly so. If the data is more important then you will probably need to packet-ize your data with prefix, length, checksum/CRC and suffix (for instance). Plus you might need to implement ACK or NACK and retries on failure. Then you might also need to deal with the scenario where the packet goes OK, but the ACK or NACK is lost. And so on ... |
