"ACK" = "ACKnowledge" - ie, confirm correctly received "packet";
"NACK" (or "NAK") = "Negative-ACKnowledge" - ie, notify bad receive "packet"

Remember, with a TV remote, the "feedback" is handled by the person holding the remote:

ACK: If the channel changes OK, you just sit back and watch;
NAK: If the channel doesn't change (ie, the transmission failed), you press the remote button again til it does! (re-transmission).
