I was thinking about if I could debug a program in such processor/mcu... But I think it is not so complicated - it is still executing the same instructions in a sequential way, so it must not be so different from the common '51... If it would be a multi-path execution, out of order, multicore, or anything similar, that's a difference - but it is not. One just simply cannot count on how long execution of an instruction takes, but the execution path is the same...
It is not like debugging of the internals of such design - that's an another issue - and as you mentioned, the tools and the common practice is different, so one has to learn something new, isn't it? Btw. they seem mentioning they have a custom tool used for the design, enabling to "translate" it to different IC processes, somewhere on the site... Jan Waclawek |
