You need to define what your system specifications are first,you say you want 16 bit resolution but what is the sampling rate? It actualy very difficult to get the full dynamic range claimed for an adc especialy when sampling at high rates where the sample period is close to the converstion time.
You need to consider the power supply/pcb layout/the adc input filter, Non-linearity of the adc etc etc.I am sure maxim have lots of application note on their website which explain all these things. |
