#102963 - Speed-Up Capacitor Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I have come across one more use of capacitor. When MOSFET's is used in switching applications , it is advised to put a small value of capacitor(0.1 Micro Farads) in parellel to Gate resistance. This is done to speed up the MOSFET operation. Initially capacitor acts as short, There by Shorting the Gate resistance initially.
Though capacitor bypasses the Gate resistance here, it is called SPEED-UP capacitor. |
