#103483 - 8 channel 35 mhz counter
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Hello Anil, Jan and all,

Jan the 8 channel 35 MHz counter has progressed. The latest schematic can be seen at http://members.aol.com/cpu8052/4051fc.gif. I have made a printed circuit board which I will post later.

The frequency counter can be used multiple ways.

Without a seven segment led counter it can be hooked up to a comm port of an IBM type computer with a communication program and it will show the frequency on the 8 channels.

With a seven segment led counter it shows the frequency.

Four more bells and whistles have been added.

1. A push button can be depressed to stop the scanning of the 8 channels and just show one channel continuously.

2. You can select the channel from the host IBM PC thru comm port (i.e. type ch = 4 on keyboard on IBM PC would select channel 4)

3. A software real time clock settable from the IBM PC keyboard has been added. The frequency and clock is displayed thru the comm port.

4. Eight LED's driven with a 74LS138 has been added to show which channel is currently being scanned.

Regards,

Charles Bannister
