#10426 - RE: Old FDD Controller is the only way? |
Hey Andy! Are you thinking of My way? I have also seen meny posting to use Floppy controller to use with 8051. But really I don't want do that. Perhaps that will be an easiast way. But I think we can do this with the help of some simple circuits. Infact,I had some books about Designing IBM XT/AT Compatible computers. I have seen some 16 bit ISA Card Design that used most available inexpensive components in the market. And also a brief deatails of Floppy disk drive. Pin Deatils and etc. But unfortunately those books are in my home. I am working on another country. If somone can help with some information about Pin specification of the Flppy Disk Drive, then i can make program the 8051 to do the task like :- 1. Initialising the drive 2. Writing Data to the Drive 3. Reading Data to the drive. or somthing like this. While I was writing this I was downloading the schematics that Mr.Stefan Strauch mentioned from this website. http://www.fortunecity.com/skyscraper/quadra/455/ Hopfully I think I can get some information. If, Let you guys knows about it. Thank you Mr.Stefan Best reagards Mohammed Subair |
