#105419 - It was configured earlier..
Responding to: ???'s previous message
I am working on a code which has been developed earlier.....I kind of overlooked the port configuration initially. Now I have configure the RXD(P1.1) = input and TXD(P1.0) = Push-pull and the serial communication seems to be working.....

But as Erik said:

likely, but not certain, anthow it will not work. It may damage both the uC and the transceiver. The real problem with things like this is that it may weaken a part of a chip which you can not detect, thus creating a problem that will not show up till later.

I might encounter problems later in the project....
Thanks,
Shruthi
