Are we a civilized community or a rude horde? Dear Kai, First, please note, I don't advocate rudeness. I said, I don't like it; but on the other hand, I can tolerate it (to certain extent of course). Please note also that to be rude, one does not need to use rude words; I was recently offended by an airport clerk while he used the most polite expressions... People have their own style. Programmers (or at least those I consider good) and developers are creative people and those tend to behave differently. They are forgiven a lot of things in exchange of their genius. They sometimes also suffer of slight neural disorder such as dyslexia/dysgraphia. An extreme example are for example Albert Einstein, Vincent van Gogh etc. An extreme example from electronics is perhaps William Shockley, inventor of transistor, who is described as "domineering and increasingly paranoid" (see wikipedia). This is not to say that everybody smart has to be necessarily rude or strange. You are the best example of one being smart and competent and extremely polite in the same time. However, people are different. But what is common in those who meet here on 8052.com is their interest in electronics, not their culture. Tolerance should be exercised on both sides. Jan Waclawek PS. While the OP has been probably given the complete answer in this discussion, I wonder whether he will be able to extract the relevant information... |
