thanks to all who posted their replies to my question. i have started to make progress.

actually i am really curiuos about the 8051/52 projects and all the info that i find on the web about 8051/52 very fascinating that i wanted to start out.
but i really wanted to start out first in a simple way so that i can understand the basics.
thanks for the prjc site and i am reading stuff there.

on a side not though, what sort of applications/projects do people and companies do with microcontrollers typically ?

like if someone were to ask me as to what work do we web programmers do, i would say we build web sites for customers which have information, can be interactive, downloads, mailing capability, shopping carts or have e-commerce capabilities. web programmers today would have the skills of visual basic programming, cgi, java also etc etc.

similarly can you please let me know as to what type of work would you guys be working on ? if i have a clear understanig of this, then i can start out with projects to do myself.
