SIM-card is very similar to Smart Card. There are some vendors which produce 8051 with Smart Card interface. For example Atmel Smart Card Reader ICs. As well, Atmel produces starter Kit for AT89C5121. This kit contains slots for both Smart Card and SIM-card. I have not used this demoboard so do not know about software SIM-card drivers included. You may contact Atmel for details. Yet another question is how do you unlock SIM-card? All GSM companies sale SIM-cards locked. There are some levels of access to SIM-card (PIN/PUK 1/2). For address book it may be not a problem but for more information it may be called "hacking" and so not legal, be careful. Regards, Oleg |
