#11422 - RE: Is it to interface Graphic LCD with 8051
Triscend offers a Quarter VGA panel function as part of the FastChip development system. With the module, you can interface a Triscend E5 Configurable System-on-Chip (CSoC) to a variety of passive LCD graphic panels. The module supports both color and monochrome displays.

The Triscend E5 devices have an embedded, clock accelarated version of the 8052 microcontroller, similar to the Dallas 80C320.

The Quarter VGA function does not require any of the embedded 8052's processing capabilities. Data transfers are controlled by the E5's embedded DMA controller.

For most applicatons, the LCD controller fits within any members of the Triscend E5 CSoC family, including the smallest called the E502. The only exception are applications that drive a 320x240 panel with 256 simultaneous colors, which requires one of the larger E5 family members.

The link below is to the relevant application note.
