#114324 - Yes, I've got it right here Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Like most other Windows-based app's, it's troubled by the fact that it uses multilevel mouse-driven operations. This means that you may have to get past several levels of menus in order to do what you already know you want to do. The result is that something that takes 500 ms on a DOS-based environment ends up taking 2-3 minutes while you figure out where you are and make adjustments, despite the fact you originally knew exactly what you wanted to do.
That's one of the most powerful arguments for providing macros and hotkeys. Then all you have to do is remember which hotkey does what you want. Of course, finding the component you want in PCAD is tricky, mainly becuase their libraries are vastly out of date. Last time I looked, the latest XILINX components in their libraries had been out of production for a full decade. RE |
