#114568 - It's a matter of preference, perhaps Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I don't have to have the entire component name, but I do have to have a key and I have to enter it when configuring the device entry in the library. In the library, I can give the part a name, such as 138, which will then produce a drop-down menu of all the 54/74xxx138's for which I've made an entry. On the other hand, if there's only one 74BCT2424, then I need only specify 2424. If I want the 74AHCT138, or 74HCTLS138, for some reason, I can spell that out right away. It's smart enough, though, that if I type HC74, that's what I get. It gets confused in some cases, e.g the CMOS 4027 vs the old 4027 DRAM. That's why I made sure I had them specified differently, the flipflop being the 14027, even if I didn't intend to use the Motorola part, that being the MOT number.
