#116777 - Specification!
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Richard Erlacher said:
establish operating requirements and limits before deciding on a microcontroller or on peripherals for it.

In particular, you need to define:
  • What do you mean by "low-cost"? How low: pennies? dollars? tens of euros?

  • What resolution do you want for your inputs: 2 steps? 5 steps? 10 steps? 50 steps? or what??
  • Similarly, what resolution do you want for your outputs

For only a very few input steps, a rotary switch is probably cheaper than a pot.
Having 2 pushbuttons to adjust 'up' and 'down' may well be cheaper than a pot.

    etc, etc, etc
