Hello everyone,
I am trying to control a stepper motor using AT89S8252, the stepper motor is "bipolar" and has current rating of 1.2A/phase. I have never used stepper motors before so I did search on internet and on 8052.com. The solutions presented on 8052.com are mostly based on chopper drive (L297 & 298) which is not what I would like to start with right now, so I have found this link on internet http://mechatronics.mech.northwestern.edu/design_re...rive1.html it explains controlling a motor using L293D, can someone please comment that this is the right way to do it, I would like to use different power supplies for motor and IC's, can I common their ground, e.g. can I connect ground of 24VDC and 5VDC to together to pin 4, 5, 12 and 13 of L293D. much appreciate your help. regards James |
