#118041 - Secure communication, Encryption
Hi,

I'm looking for leads regarding 8051 compatibles that can support a secure communications link over RS-232 and/or USB. I am familiar with the Dallas DS5250 sram based micro and the SafeXcel offering:
http://www.safenet-inc.com/products/...cel810.asp

What other options do you know of? I see this library for standard 8051's and it looks nice (though I'd need the proper algorithms for the PC-side too):

Customer has not settled on degree of security, but something similar to RSA, ECC, DES and AES would be excellent. I see the Philips SmartMX family, but I don't want to buy a whole new suite of tools:

The end application is not that complicated but the client wants some (as yet unknown) level of security over the physical link.

Thanks for your experience,
GB
