Yes, analog guys do this. Insert an additional small series resistor between cap and switch to form a RC low pass filter to improve the situation by adding a current limit to keep the working life of switch contact high and by adding some noise suppression.
Series resistor must be chosen small enough, though, to allow the input to fall to 0V, of course.
