I am using both BIT bang and Smbus interface since when power
fail I want to save my curent reading without any interrupt. that is a mistake, you will get faster processing using the hardware. Of course, you should disable all other interrupts. In SM bus interface I have fear that if my other i2c device are running(ex.RTC) and if poer fail than I may lose my current If another IIC device is running, it will hang the IIC bus not just the interface and thus there is no gain going bit-bang.
