It's my guess that the "endian" schizophrenia of the 8051 is an artifact of its 8048 legacy. Adding/Subtracting has no "directional" advantage when using "@Rx" coding. Once the DPTR was bolted on to the model (and omitting the "DEC DPTR" instr) the endian issue emerged. regards, p |
