#121672 - no, under rules
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Out of interest, have you ever tried a linux system ?
No, I am under rules as far as the PC goes, and, anyhow, 95% of the tools I use will not work under Linux.

Besides, the "playground" examples you tried were all windows based, what do you expect ?
Not an argument against Linux or Acme or whatever, but if someone want to publish something to be used 'off the web' it should work with whatever platform it is stated to work under. The "oh they should be able to ignore that" or ActiveX is good, it does not encounter hacks under Linux is not a reason to accept either in a 'published' product.

Yes, 'storebought' software has it's faults too, but you can insist on it working, at least in a basic form.

If the two I tried had had statements up front "I made this for fun, have fun - or whatever - when you try to use it", that would be one thing, but both were presented as 'packages'.

If you present something as a 'package' there should not be any obvious up front faults.

Yes, were I working as a 'starving amateur' I might fight my way through and risk whatever vira maight be associated, but believing pro.. naah crap like the two i tried are not infected is a stretch.

[edit] oh, I forgot, free software is not infected, and if it is, Linux will take care of that[end edit]
