That "quite a lot of reading" is how you learn how to do it.

If you have a working system and have a compelling reason to change it, you have to change the whole thing, and not just one or two of the members. If you NEED point-multipoint communication, do you really have a choice?

Do the research! It will enable you to learn how it's done. Search here and on Google. You'll see how it's done.
