Although English is not my first language, I challenge you to show how my statement says, or even implies, that BASIC is NOT a high level language.

I suggest you switch to a HIGH level language

Now, if one is to "switch to" something, that implies "switching from" something different!

Thus, if he says he's using BASIC, and you tell him to "switch to" a HLL, that implies that you don't consider BASIC a HLL

To further clarify my view on the subject and to satisfy your curiosity, I do NOT consider BASIC to be a STRUCTURED high level language.

Yes, I agree with you - it was just a bit of fun.

Hi Andy,
I think you are almost correct. The way I see it, Sankar was using assembly language and asked how he could do this using BASCOM. Hence the switch would have been from Assemby not BASCOM as he was not using it yet.

As you may have noticed I am biased toward PASCAL, and I think with good reasons, for me at least!

I would be most happy to debate/discuss this with you further, but over a bottle or 2 or 3 of South Australia's magnificent RED wine and a lamb on my BBQ spit. Even my own Schiraz is not a bad drop!

Cheers,
Tony G.
