Dear Members,
I have been able to somehow interface APR6016,which is a 16 minutes voice recording and playback chip,with 8051.I had to read between the lines of the datasheet from http://www.aplusinc.com.tw.
No free software is available for APR series except one chinese but worthless.It is surprising that neither any support is available from the manufacturer except their developement board(which Andy recommended last in this forum) which,it appears,uses their own microcontroller.I am confident that I have searched the web thoroughly,but in vain.
This is a very interesting project because
1)this SPI chip uses 3 Volts but fortunately VIH max is 5.5V
2)one has to power up the chip by command,only chip select wo'nt do
3)while you are sending commands through DI,the APR almost simultaneously responds through DO,giving current device status etc.
4)this is probably a true mixed signal application
I must admit that although I can somehow record and playback on any address,and stop,I am yet to find an elegant solution to read the current device status and use it.
I have interfaced 93Cxx but will that help here?Really I have no experience interfacing SPI sevices.Can I get some hints on tackling DI and DO simultaneuosly?The basics of interfacing SPI devices should do.
