The idea of using abbreviations is to save time (v. important) & space (no big deal these days). If it takes longer to type a clever abbreviation than to type the full word, that's *not* the idea! The french "@+" (à plus tard = see you/talk to you later) is an example - I use it a lot, but the "@" is AltGr 2 & the "+" is shift =!
BTW, every time I see "lcd display", I howl quietly in anguish! Repeat after me : LED = light-emitting diode LCD = liquid crystal display so displays can be LED or LC (or VF), but never LCD! Regards, Richard |
