That is what's known as a non-sequitur; ie, your conclusion (LCD is not a probs) does not follow from the reason stated (I am using 8 bit data bus).

That's not to say that the conclusion isn't actually true.

So, please confirm that you do have a working LCD, independant of the keypad stuff.
