Hi Gil,
sounds a great method to cause many trouble ! Why you think, that any data sheet tells, reset must be held active until the crystal starts to oscillate ? Right, this time can be several milliseconds long and no rise or fall time or pulse duration or proper voltage levels inside the operating limits was applied. And then the CPU can do many wrong things, if not forced into reset during this dangerous time. If you want to provoke such behavior outside the reset state, never expect right working furthermore.
