SJMP would probably do exactly the same thing without the extra MOV instruction. That's why you and Erik get paid big bucks to do this stuff, and I'm the only one who'll pay me. Two points to Jan for saving two more instructions. We're down to 8 and 9 instead of 10 and 11. For me, it's really more about learning to do long division than comparing two registers. If Abdullah is already adept at this stuff, then I'm the last person he should be listening to. But if he isn't, he should see how to do these things "the hard way," just for the sake of complete understanding. If nothing else, he'll better appreciate what CJNE brings to the party. By the way, in the spirit of full disclosure, I started to write JMP but knew it wasn't right. I didn't remember SJMP. I knew there is a way to do an unconditional jump, I just didn't feel like researching it at 0730 hours. |
